We all deal with worry and tension, it is normal. Even when you do what you love.

These stresses accumulate in small bursts, but eventually, they reach a breaking point. If we don’t release them, that pressure can turn inward or lash out at someone we never intended to hurt.

That’s why having a safe circle matters.

It’s not the same as a comfort zone, which we stay in to avoid complications. A safe circle is a physical or emotional space where we can take a breather, ease our mind from daily work, and about all: vent the things we bottle up during our work days. For artists especially, it’s a lifesaver: we get to reset our emotions so we can return refreshed.

Of course, a safe circle also requires the right people: really good friends or family members we trust wholeheartedly, even if they don’t work in the same industry. Their willingness to listen is already a huge relief, and we owe them the same courtesy. Communication flows both ways, and a true safe circle is built on mutual support.

So if you have close people, try to spend time with them. If they are far away, coordinate video calls, they won’t be the same than face to face, but it will give you a great opportunity to keep in touch.

What it is ENDA’s experience with this so far?

Well, that could be for another episode….

The journey continues…
