I know, I know… Another shot and ENDA is removing wires from Barbie’s hair and dancing alongside The Mask in a never-ending roto marathon. But that’s how it goes in this job: new shots keep rolling in, and you take them on headfirst.
This time, the concept is to replace some posters the characters pass by, swapping the original band for a well-known group from a popular film.
The objective?
Give the scene a subtle yet intentional change in its background art to change the world setting where the action takes place.
This shot is not without its challenges:
➡️ Difficult camera movement to track
➡️ Motion blur reconstruction
➡️ Color and lighting integration.
➡️ Roto back the character with hair included
Yes, it sounds like a lot, and it is…. But like every shot, meticulous planning is key to nailing a high-quality replacement. There will be fresh breakdowns to come, so stay tuned!
