ENDA Episode 69→ The time when ENDA works on a Paint Out Shot (Part 4)
No single patch fits all frames (hair is just too dynamic) so combining precise tracking with subtle warping was the only way to keep everything looking natural.
Picking up where we left off, it was time to tackle hair restoration.
Each hair section has its own movement, and the perspective and lighting can shift dramatically from frame to frame. Just a slight misalignment can reveal the patch, so making sure every strand aligns correctly is no small feat.
To handle this, multiple patches were created for different frame segments, tracked individually, and then nudged manually with Gridwarp for an organic feeling. No single patch fits all frames (hair is just too dynamic) so combining precise tracking with subtle warping was the only way to keep everything looking natural.
Although there are still details to adjust, the result is far more efficient than previous methods (it was a lot of trial and error) and allows us to have a base to refine when we start reuniting all the other restorations.
With the hair now patched up, the next step is to restore the skin: face, neck, and possibly the necklace.
The challenges never end, but neither does the learning.
The journey continues…
