ENDA Episode 64→ The time when ENDA values the impact of journalism in his life (Part 3)

There were a lot of false paths to enter the New World, many too good to be true promises, and many hidden requirements that if I had missed, I would have been crushed before entering the New World.

Deciding to come to the New World was not easy, but certainly, it would have been almost impossible without what I learned from journalism.

During those times there was a lot of information going around about how you could get to the New World. But discerning which pieces were the corrects, was the hard part.

So during the first days, I treated it like a journalistic investigation: taking notes, reviewing sites, asking questions, reviewing official sources, getting first-hand advice, and then contrasting it with other sources, etc.

It might seem that I was exaggerating, but in the end, it turned out to be the right choice. There were a lot of false paths to enter the New World, many too good to be true promises, and many hidden requirements that if I had missed, I would have been crushed before entering the New World.

We usually do not measure how much danger vague or wrong information can affect us in our daily lives; after all small decisions tend to have small outcomes.

But when a big decision is being made, we must be extremely careful. We do not need to be journalists to know that if we are not well informed, we could end up making the biggest mistake of our lives.

So I want to say: “Thank you” to the five journalism teachers and all of my friends and classmates who shared with me all the knowledge and practical advice during those 5 years.

Thanks to it, I learned how to discern truthful information, how to be prepared for the unknown, how to value your contacts, how to read more deeply the words and meanings, and about all: the art of questioning.

What is the art of questioning? Well, that would be for a future episode.

The journey continues…
