In a previous episode , I talked about the challenges of removing wires for my first project in Alpha Chromatica Education (ACE). Since then, I’ve been working on the first phase of dealing with these obstacles: creating the Clean Plate.

A Clean Plate is where we remove any wires, rigs, or stray objects from the background so we can patch in what we need. It’s a fundamental step in compositing because you learn to match colors, textures, lighting, and camera perspective. All to keep the shot believable.

Even though the set wasn’t overly detailed with textures, the crane camera movement revealed fresh surfaces every few frames. Plus, there were sections of the set never shown in any frame, meaning I had to creatively rebuild them from existing parts without making them look repetitive.

The clean plate is ready, so what’s next?

Tracking all the patches to ensure they lock seamlessly with the camera’s motion.

That’s where new challenges arise, but like every other problem to come. ENDA is ready to take it on.

The journey continues…
