Some people are lucky to be at the right time and at the right place and most importantly to meet the right people at the right time.

My case was not exactly the best. Like many artists who began their journeys, I miss certain opportunities for not being at the right place and the right time. Usually, the chance to work with a certain person, to obtain a certain job, to learn a software or a skill earlier that could have been useful later or even to meet future coworkers that would later do great things in the future.

I would admit that this frustrated me for a while and like the “What If…” scenarios that I used to think, I wasted so much time thinking: “I should have been there”, “I should have learned this before”, “It would have been better if I met this person earlier”, and so on.

Nonetheless, it was not until one day when I was in a reunion with a friend that I stopped thinking like that.

She was from the same recital group I was part of and after she figured out I knew how to play not one, but two of her favorite anime songs she was beyond excited. I thought that could not be possible, she was part of her own band and she did lots of other events, she was doing music way before, she knew many other musicians aside from me and I was not even a professional.

However, the reality is that she had never come across someone who knew those specific songs and she told me the phrase that changed everything: “How is it that I never knew you before?”

And that’s when I realized that no one is alone in that aspect. Everyone who we thought was in the right place and at the right time, probably does not feel that way, maybe they also feel lost and are hoping to find the right people or do the right thing when the time is right.

Perhaps, those people are the most excited when after a long path of success they figured out that it could have been even better if they had met a certain person or participated in a certain event. But the truth is that we do not know, we will never know. We just know our current timeline.

Something that I started realizing looking back on many past events, but that would be for the next chapter.
