At the time I was finishing high school, we all passed an aptitude test that would help us choose our professional path before going to college. I knew beforehand that I wanted to study Film or something related to the Media and I thought that was going to be my first choice.

However, the results were slightly different: my results showed that my first career choice should be Music and that I should go to the National Conservatory. The Media career was there too but in second place.

I won’t lie, I did consider taking the path of music. As I told you in a previous series, music was very important during my development as an artist.

Nonetheless, there was a key factor that hold me for going all out: music was a part of my journey, but it could not become the journey. If I started to take it as a job, I might end up hating it and to be honest I lacked the perfectionism to become one of the few admitted in a music school, even more if it was the Conservatory.

On the other hand, I reaffirmed that even if could not become a professional musician, I could become another type of artist and that choice led me to where I am today: on the journey to become a VFX artist in the New World.

Do I regret the choice? I choose not to.

Have I ever thought what if….? Well, that is for another episode.
