ENDA Episode 26→ The time when the Endless Apprentice met his first heroes (Part 3)

We talked before about the golden age of the SAMA team, but my perception was about taking a detour from a certain point or maybe, it had already begun before that.

By the third year of college, the girl who was in charge of production got separated due to having a different schedule of courses. This created an empty seat in the group, which I ended up filling, but not the role itself.

For the new filmmaking course, I took the role of editing while the guy who did the technical and sound part took over the production role. Two additional people were added to the group covering the sound and art direction positions.

The beginning of the process was all that I expected, in parallel to the short film they were also planning to enter a short film competition, which I was also invited to be part of.

Things were running smoothly, but the more we advanced with the project the more I noticed that like any other group, they have their problems and complications. Especially when shooting in location was involved.

There were intense days of shooting, but I believed that it would be worth it like the other times they presented their works.

However, for the first time, their work was not the best in class. We were surpassed by another group’s short film in a few better aspects.

I considered that it was partly my fault, I was not the usual editor of the team and maybe because one of their original team members was absent, the dynamic was not the same.

Nonetheless, when I started to look back, I noticed certain details and events that for some reason I omitted during this whole time.
