ENDA Episode 24→ The time when the Endless Apprentice met his first heroes (Part 1)
As a kid, I had my own in many aspects, but those I met in college made the first real mark on me.
We all have our heroes, idols, examples, etc; people we look up to and want to imitate so we can be better.
As a kid, I had my own in many aspects, but those I met in college made the first real mark on me. A team of four members of my same year and same career. Two guys and two girls, each with different backgrounds and talents made them work in perfect sync.
The first girl was older than most of us in our year, but not without reason: she had been in the first years of one of the best acting schools in the country until she decided she wanted to work behind cameras and switch careers.
Her artistic vein was strong. She was good at crafts, graphic design, and arts in general, but her real talent came at the moment of being a director capable of getting the best from actors and managing her own team. She was clearly the leader and with good merit.
The second girl came straight out of high school, but don’t be fooled. She lacked experience, but not ability. She quickly became known as a natural film producer and someone with good administrative skills.
In addition, her artistic skills although less refined as the director show an innate talent for crafts and arts. She was the one who kept things running, but at the same time she was the emotional glue to the team
The first guy was one the oldest in our class, but not without reason: he came from completing a technical formation in Sound Engineering, which already put him many miles ahead of us in technical knowledge.
However, that did not stop there, he showed skills in operating a camera and other technical aspects of the filmmaking process. He was a technical and sound specialist.
The second guy was older too for good reasons: He had experience with VFX and 3D softwares, not to mention his abilities in video editing. These made him the perfect candidate for the group's postproduction specialist.
All four together made an organic team and they were very good friends. Their first projects were already amazing enough that they were known in other classes. Our class was not indifferent to this, especially me who could not stop seeing them as an ideal of what a team should be.
Nevertheless, what were those projects? How did they manage to achieve so many great things as a team?
Well, that would be for the next chapter.
