ENDA Episode 239 → The time when ENDA fights with a fire sword (Part 10)
However, when we move on to the next ten frames, we find a new challenge: the source of light moves away from certain parts of the shirt.
The sword swings, and we follow through!
In a previous episode, we managed to draw the shapes for the interactive lighting in the first ten frames.
However, when we move on to the next ten frames, we find a new challenge: the source of light moves away from certain parts of the shirt.
This makes us realise something important. Some of our shapes need to be turned off, or temporarily disabled, to match the movement of the light.
It is no easy task, because it requires planning from the beginning and designing the shapes in a way that segments the object into manageable sections. That way, we can turn one section off without affecting an area that still needs to remain illuminated.
In the video below, we can see how only one shape on the shirt remains visible while the others disappear, until the sword returns to a position that justifies the interactive lighting on that edge of the shirt.
And all that in just ten frames!
There is still a lot to address in this shot, and we are only getting started.
But that will be for another episode.
The journey continues...
