In a previous episode, we successfully restored the hair. But we still had a lot of work pending, especially on the skin. So let’s start with the neck.

It may seem easier than hair, and that’s the keyword: “seems.”

In the video below, you can see that the neck alone needs three different clean plates just for the first ten frames. One of them is even custom-built to preserve more neck detail.

Why?

If we pay close attention to the shot, we’ll notice that the neck lighting shifts subtly, especially in the shadow tones. These changes might look minor, but they become critical when you’re trying to restore skin convincingly.

In fact, if you look closely at the script, you’ll see that two of those clean plates are used only for a few frames, and only small portions are taken from them as patches.

By the time we play through the full frame range, those small patches do their job, and the skin restoration holds up.

However… something is still missing between the hair and the neck.

But that will be for another episode.

So, stay tuned!

The journey continues...
