In the last part, we asked which of the two nodes, Kronos and OFlow, gives the better result when retiming.

And we may now have some answers.

In the video below, we can see that both nodes seem to produce similar results at first glance. But when we zoom in and start looking at the details, we notice that OFlow introduces artefacts, while Kronos does not.

If we also compare these with the Retime node, we can see that, although Retime doesn’t create artefacts, its precision in terms of frame positioning is slightly off.

In other words:

🔹Kronos gives the best result overall in terms of quality and customisation.

🔹OFlow is a good option, but we need to be aware of its limitations and be prepared to deal with artefacts.

🔹Retime is fine for quick tests and learning purposes, but it may not be the best choice for production use.

So… does this mean we’re done with the topic of retiming?

Maybe yes, maybe no.

But that will be for another episode.

The journey continues…
