After rendering our plate at 0.5 speed with both nodes: Retime and Kronos, we can finally compare the results.

In the video below, we can see that the Retime version does the job… but once we put it side by side with the Kronos plate, the differences become clear.

The Kronos plate feels much more fluid in its movement, while the Retime version, especially in the arms, feels slightly snappy and less natural.

It may seem like a small detail, but in a studio environment, and especially if you start in a Plate Prep department, these “small” details are exactly what define the quality of your work.

So the choice seems obvious:

Kronos is the stronger option when it comes to high-quality retiming.

However… is it the only option?

Well, there might be another retime node we still need to talk about.

But that will be for a future episode.
