There’s a question everyone asks themselves when it’s time to choose a specialization in visual effects:

Can I make a living from this?

The answer is a simple yes.

While you’re working on a project, you can earn a pretty decent wage, and the more you improve your craft, the easier it becomes to move into Senior or Lead positions, along with the pay rises that come with them.

Not to mention the possibility of taking on small freelance jobs and earning additional income.

In many ways, it works like any other office job: you get daily tasks, you receive notes from a supervisor, you get feedback from the client, and you get paid for your work.

Of course, it has its own quirks:

🔹 You work on films, TV shows, commercials, and more.

🔹 It’s an incredibly demanding industry.

🔹 It requires you to learn new things quickly.

🔹 Your name appears in the credits.

But what happens if your question is:

Can I earn a lot of money from this?

Well… the answer becomes a bit more complicated.

But that will be for a future episode.

The journey continues...
