ENDA Episode 152 → The time when ENDA talks about taking occasional breaks
Sometimes it’s short: 5 to 15 minutes. Sometimes it means sleeping on it and coming back fresh. But once we do, the difference is striking:
We’ve all been there: a difficult shot, shrinking deadlines, and long hours piling up.
It’s tempting to power through non-stop, hoping to brute-force the solution. But the more we push, the more we corner ourselves. Our eyes get tired. Our minds lose clarity. And that’s when mistakes start to happen.
The usual response? “Work harder, better, faster, stronger.”
But that mindset only creates more problems.
What we really need… is a break.
Sometimes it’s short: 5 to 15 minutes. Sometimes it means sleeping on it and coming back fresh. But once we do, the difference is striking:
🔹That “impossible” shot suddenly feels doable.
🔹What took 4 hours yesterday now takes 2 or 3.
🔹Our minds are sharper, and our eyes catch mistakes before they happen.
It may sound obvious, but you'd be surprised how many artists: both juniors and veterans, struggle to learn the simple art of pausing.
So next time you feel blocked or stuck in a loop, try one of these:
step away, take a short walk, look out the window, read something light and most importantly: breathe.
Then return to the desk, you might just find what you’ve been missing.
The journey continues…
