We started our set extension by doing the tracking…Yes, not the flashiest step, but absolutely vital if you want every new element to stick.
You might ask: “ENDA, why track dozens of points when the camera move is barely there?”
Because even subtle shifts add up. In a single background plate, most areas might glide by in unison… until you composite a new foreground element or environment. Suddenly, 80% of your track is fine, but that remaining 20% twitches and betrays the illusion.
That’s why we carve out additional tracking zones as little safety nets for when parts of the frame shift differently. When you’re dropping in multiple CG pieces around characters and juggling layers at varying distances, those extra track points become lifesavers.
What’s next? Let’s just say our expanded set is already looking promising… but that’s a story for another episode.
The journey continues…
