ENDA Episode 105→ The time when ENDA expands a Star Wars set (Part 1)
If I can survive those challenges (and keep my sanity), why not dive into one of the biggest VFX franchises ever?
I know, I know… you’re probably thinking:“Great ENDA! You haven’t even wrapped Barbie’s hair restoration (still in progress), you’re mid-roto marathon with The Mask, you’ve almost finished swapping posters, and you’re deep into that retro burn-in fix, and now you want to tackle a Star Wars shot?”
Short answer: YES!
If I can survive those challenges (and keep my sanity), why not dive into one of the biggest VFX franchises ever?
This project’s a scorcher: Rey and Luke sit together, but with their faces turned away, while a burning ship roars behind them, which it is the center stage for the entire composition.
Even with a simple camera move, there’s a mountain to conquer:
➡️ Blue-screening fire: isolating a capricious element without killing the fine ember details.
➡️ Clean-plate prep: rebuilding areas where new set extensions will live.
➡️ Asset creation: hunting or crafting wreckage, debris, and background elements to stretch the world.
➡️ Full-course integration: matching color, lighting, shadows, and edges so nothing feels pasted on.
So much to juggle, and so many plates still spinning, but the resolve stays the same: deliver an incredible final result.
Stay tuned!
The journey continues…
