Most of you probably never saw Episode 000: the post that started everything, because rookie-era ENDA published it with the setting: ๐๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด ๐๐ฏ๐ญ๐บ. To celebrate hitting triple digits, Iโm sharing a polished, public version of that very first entry so you can see where the Endless Apprentice truly began.
ENDA Episode 000โ The time when the Endless Apprentice learned that it didnโt have to be VFX
Iโll admit that VFX wasnโt always my first choice and like any other kid, I imagined myself as a doctor, a lawyer, a musician, each path promising a comfortable life in my home country. But in the end, I chose VFX, even knowing that the path would be harder.
One lesson crystallized over time: it didnโt have to be VFX, but I chose VFX, again and again.
I could have stuck with filmmaking or screenwriting after college, yet the pull of visual effects sent me back to school.
I could have stayed a post-producer in my first job, but I quit to chase pixels and particles.
I could have listened (and still could) to the insistence of my friends and became a film or animation producer and maybe I could be earning lots of money today, but fulfilment isnโt always found in a paycheck.
I could have abandoned all when the writersโ strike dried up prospects, I could have quit entirely, yet I kept climbing.
That sole decision brought me to a difficult path where I struggled, but it also allowed me to meet many different artists from different backgrounds and learn all kinds of new things from them.
And thatโs who I am or part of who I am still trying to be, Iโm not knowledgeable enough to be a master, but I do have the drive to keep learning even if it is an endless path, so if you see me you could call me the Endless Apprentice or to put it simply: ENDA.
